New Zealand Fulbright, 2011
Where to begin? I love New Zealand! I will always be thankful to the Fulbright Program for the opportunity to live and study in Wellington, New Zealand during 2011. Fulbright Fellowship grants are awarded to American students to engage in educational and cultural exchange with other nations. Reciprocal Fulbright awards are also available from many countries to study in the US. Check it out!
While living in Windy Welly (a nickname well deserved), I conducted research on deep-sea population genetics in the New Zealand exclusive economic zone. I worked with scientists at the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Science in Evan's Bay. I was directly mentored by Dr. Ashley Rowden, and was also privileged to work alongside Dr. Malcolm Clark and Dr. Els Maas.
